Enviroflex® is an articulating concreate erosion control block designed for use in riverine and channel environments. Applications include dam/spillway overflow protection, culvert outlets, detention / retention basics, embankments, wetland traffic crossings and applications where erosion, scour and maintaining environmentally responsible surroundings are of concer. Enviroflex® is manufactured in the USA from fiber reinforced concrete.
The openings in the block units enable vegetation to be established thus providing a green, natural, environmentally pleasing appearance. Additionally, the openings in the block provide a means for stormwater infiltration, thus promoting groundwater recharge. Cabling or other connections devices are not required for hydraulic stability. However, each block can be individually connected through our one-mat pin® or continously connected by a cable. Each Enviroflex® block interlocks through an overlap connection, which greatly limits the block's overturning ability by eliminating protruding edges. Environflex® is used to replace rip-rap, gabion mattresses, concrete or asphalt linings and other hard armor systems. When used in conjunction with the Verdura® Retaining Wall System, a total erosion control channel lining system can be created.
